Definition: RSS

(1) RSS is an XML data format that facilitates the distribution of information or a summary of more detailed information, commonly but not exclusively related to web logs (blogs).

(2) RSS is any XML data format (including ATOM) that is used to distribute web logs (blogs).

(3) RSS is a general reference to the use of web logs (blogs) accessed via  web log feeds (blog feeds).
