Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) is a labeling technology in the form of an open standard framework created by Adobe Systems, Inc. based on a subset of RDF/XML for the definition, creation, and processing of extensible metadata, such as description, title, keywords, date, author, and copyright information, that can be embedded in a number of popular file formats, including PDF and various image formats, primarily for the purpose of tagging and labeling files in those formats.
