Definition: Artificial Agent

By Jack Krupansky

An artificial agent is an agent that is implemented in software, or a robot.

Technically, an "agent" is any entity that "acts or exerts power", so the term "artificial agent" is needed in contexts where, for example, human agents operate as well as software agents.

Synonym for software agent.

Singular of artificial agents.
